ZipZap - A Game For Kids to Play at Recess
ZipZap is an application software download free Windows that is a fun game for kids to play. It is a great way to get them moving and having fun at recess!
It can be played with the whole class or just one group at a time. It is a great icebreaker to help the students become familiar with each other and make them laugh.
How to Play:
First, form a circle with six feet between each player. The leader starts the game by clapping-pointing and saying, “Zip!” to someone on their left side, followed by a clap-point and “Zap!” to someone on their right side. Repeat around the circle until everyone knows the words and movements.
The next person must 'Pop' the 'Zip' that was passed to them by someone on their left or right side, sending it across the circle to another person on either side. If they hesitate, they are out.
This can be a good preparation game before a performance or a rehearsal. It can also be used as an elimination game where everyone who says a word out of order or takes too long is eliminated until there is only one player left standing.
If you’d like to use this game for a classroom, you can teach students the words and movements ahead of time. It’s easy to adapt to the needs of the students, and it can be a fun icebreaker game for groups that need to warm up before a performance or a rehearsal.
